Grief and Loss

This workshop defines and explores the levels of loss and the accumulated affect on an individual and community.

For example “Primary Loss” would include loss of an immediate family member, land base, educational system or a traditional life and meaning…

”Secondary loss” occurs when the primary loss continues and the losses now occur because the first loss is impacting others…secondary loss results in denial of truth/reality and blaming/shaming of the grieving person.

Also too there is “Complicated Grief”; trauma plus grief resulting in helplessness and terror as well as delayed grief.

Also included are the cycle of grieving, ways to grieve and cultural teachings.
